Local Lifestyle

Everything in Deerfield Beach is well-designed, and residents love to spend their time getting out and enjoying the best of the city’s engaging amenities. In this laid-back town, the expansive public parks loaded with recreation facilities, powdery white beaches, and warm crystalline waters appeal to the adventurers at heart, who take advantage of the ample outdoor activities.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Since Deerfield Beach isn’t equipped with a central commercial district akin to a downtown, the area surrounding the town’s boardwalk serves as the main hub for shopping and waterfront dining. Here, iconic sports and beachwear companies like Billabong sit side-by-side with boutique surfboard shops like Island Water Sports, a small independent shop that provides visitors and residents alike with gear for paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing, and skateboarding.

The boardwalk area is also rich in phenomenal dining, particularly when it comes to meals served with stellar ocean views. At the core of JB’s on the Beach is a seafood-oriented menu overflowing with fresh, decadent options. Innovative and award-winning, Oceans 234 brings together the delectable flavors of the coast together with a hip and upbeat atmosphere.

Don’t let the relaxed ambiance of The Whale’s Rib confuse you — the incredible flavors of this casual seafood joint have brought it praise from all over the country. The restaurant’s signature “Whale Fries” make the perfect complement to any of the main dishes, which are creative takes on classics. Head a little inland and hungry diners can dig into the heavenly oysters and clams at JByrd’s Muddy Waters Restaurant & Raw Bar, a quirky, pirate-themed eatery best-known for their lobster tails and lively karaoke nights. In need of something a little sweeter? In addition to their savory options, the Crepe Cafe specializes in tantalizing dessert crepes.

Things to Do

Jutting out into the ocean for nearly 1,000 feet, the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier is among one of the prettiest in the state and draws in thousands of visitors each year. The Deerfield Beach Boardwalk runs perpendicular to the pier, stretching for more than a mile. Lined with towering palm trees and grassy segments, adjacent to a vibrant assortment of restaurants.

Quiet Waters Park houses some of Deerfield Beach’s most unique attractions, including the water ski cable resort, Six Rixen USA. Along with its 430 acres of stunning green space and trails for exploration, Quiet Waters Park also serves as the venue for the annual Florida Renaissance Festival, a highly anticipated event attended by more than 100,000 visitors over each season.

Taking place near the International Fishing Pier, the annual Deerfield Beach Festival of the Arts includes exhibits and displays from artists all over the country, as well as live music, great food vendors, and kid-friendly entertainment. Tucked within the Intracoastal Waterway, the Deerfield Island Park is a much-loved natural refuge only accessible by boats.
